Photoshoot

I met a really cool photographer, Katie Gardner, in San Diego on a ride from Long Beach with some of my girl friends. When we met her, she was shooting a girls day party at Sunset Cliffs. After speaking with her, she sounded like she wanted to do a photoshoot with us and our bikes and drove up to LA to do so. She brought her friend who assisted with the reflector and made us laugh! My girls Mandy and Janey showed up for the shoot and we all had fun posing, maybe all for the first time!

 

Tell a female driver not to do something

Through motorcycling I'm so thankful to be able to meet these interesting people, especially women!

Conversation Hour on Monki Moto Pod Hi everyone! It's Tara with Monki Moto Pod! I'm excited to introduce you to a new segment of the podcast.  I'm not changing the regular format of interview style episodes on Tuesdays with a select guest who graciously makes time to talk with me. I am adding a new episode to be released on Thursdays, where appropriate. Most of the time, I am very busy working on various things, but have been working very hard on making content about people in the motorcycling world that I hope many people find value in. The new segment is called "Conversation Hour" and it is based on the conversations I have with Mark as he is trying to fall asleep. Sending good ️vibrations for #twostroketuesday Mechanics of a Two-Stroke The engineering behind the way two-strokes work is pretty cool. Essentially, the shape of the exhaust uses pressure (sound) waves from combustion to expel fuel while creating pressure to supercharge the piston. The early two-strokes had straight-pipes that tuners would cut to the perfect length so the motor would run optimally at the desired engine speed. Over time, tuners learned 'pressure waves could be created to help pull spent gasses out of the cylinder' and 'that the speed of these waves is more or less constant, though it's affected slightly by the temperature of the air'. That means, a single length pipe is built for a motor at an ideal RPM and the powerband is thin. So the question was, how to get a better timed reverb from the pipe without changing the length?
